Kevin,The NRA has a momey lock on the Republican party and likely a serious amount of Democrats.Anti-gun laws will never pass Congress.I am in favor of banning any firearm that cannot be used for hunting and being damned strict about who buys those guns.
We'll see if he or anyone proposes anything. Part of my point, though, is no one is going to try to 'take all the guns away.' Though we often hear that asserted.
The NRA has sworn for years that all Democrats want to take away guns. I've seen demands on FB for teachers to carry weapons, what a sick world.
It's worse than that. They want to take away ALL the guns. And then, what? It's a little fuzzy. Random arrests, I guess. And 'tyranny.'
Do you think all guns should be banned Kevin? Do you think an unarmed society is the solution?
You can't 'ban' all guns any more than they could 'prohibit' alcohol, back in the twenties. But we can regulate, and lock up violators.
It's not guns that are the problem...it's the ammo. Get rid of the fucking ammo. Seriously.
Just as undoable ...
Tax hell out of ammo, apply the money to metal health services, and fighting hate groups like Fox news, NRA and Westboro Baptist Church.Undoable in total yes, it is possible to stop the influx of weapons and change the culture.- Adopt the driving license standard for guns. *pass a written test on basic laws and safety of guns *pass an eye exam *demonstrate proper use, storage/locking away, unloading, firing *repeat in 4 years. - as with drivers privileges a brain seizure or other major calamities allow doctors to prohibit driving for a few months, so to it should revoke the right to have guns until recovery. Often a crime is committed with a gun, followed to an early buyer who says it was stolen last year, a policeman told me this is often bullshit, it was sold by unlicensed kitchen table dealer, cure for this he said is a hugh fine for not reporting stolen weapons immediately, this will take a few of these dealers out of the business. Nothing works in total, but everything will have an impact on the edges and over time make us all safer.
Now you're talking ...
